What You Will Be Doing
- Conduct audits of local government entities and nonprofit organizations in accordance with GAAS, GASB, and FASB standards.
- Perform risk assessments, internal control evaluations, and substantive audit testing.
- Prepare financial statements, audit documentation, and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in planning and executing audit engagements, ensuring timely completion.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to clients in a clear and professional manner.
- Stay current on accounting and auditing standards relevant to government and nonprofit sectors.
Collaborate with team members to improve audit processes and client service.
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification or progress toward obtaining CPA preferred.
- 2+ years of auditing experience, specifically with local governments and nonprofit organizations.
- Strong understanding of GAAS, GASB, FASB, and other relevant auditing standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
